How to make your Narnia read-along even better in 10 easy steps

It has begun. The Narnia read-along 2017 is officially underway. And here are 10 tips on how to make your Narnian experience even more magical. (This sounds like a travel ad or something?!?!)

1. Drink lots of tea. Drink all the tea. Tea is amazing with books; especially with Narnia.

2. Get some Turkish Delight, and eat it while reading the Turkish Delight scene in LWW.

3. Go to the beach and read there. If possible, while you're reading the Voyage of the Dawn Treader. It makes it soooooo magical, honestly.

4.  Read outside, in a nice little quiet place, with a bunch of pillows and blankets.

5. Eat good food while reading. Especially things like pastries, or fresh fruit. Because Narnians are feasting all the time.

6. If it's chilly out, make some hot apple cider, because it's like a non-alcoholic version of the spiced wine they drink in Voyage of the Dawn Treader.

7. Listen to the Narnia soundtrack when you read. Other good soundtracks to listen to include The Lord of the Rings, The Theory of Everything, The Book Thief, Pride and Prejudice '05, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, Becoming Jane, The Young Victoria, Romeo and Juliet 2013, The Imitation Game.

8. If at all possible, find a nice wardrobe, and read in there

9. Stay up late, get a portable book light, and read under the stars.

10. Or just wrap yourself up in lots of blankets and pillows and read until the far hours of the morning.

  1. Helpful hint, closets are not the same thing as a wardrobe. You will be very uncomfortable and die of allergies.

    1. Yes, that is true. And my closet also means spiders which is a hugeeee heck no for me.

  2. Now I'm starving after reading that, I need to go eat something!!!!!
